SANDRA CHAMOUX, pianist

Holder of the highest distinctions in Christian Bernard's class at the CRR of Grenoble, Sandra Chamoux brilliantly integrates the Haute Ecole de musique (HEM) of Geneva in Harry Datyner's class and obtains in 1992 the first prize of virtuosity.
Winner of the Viotti and Busoni international competitions, she studied with Catherine Collard, Vlado Perlemuter and Yevgeni Malinin. She plays in many European countries, as well as in China, India, the United States...
An eclectic musician, Sandra Chamoux expresses herself in a wide variety of solo and chamber music repertoires. She has performed the complete works of Rachmaninov for two pianos and four hands with the pianist Florence Cioccolani.
She shared the stage with flutist Michel Moraguès, trumpet player Romain Leleu, violinists Elsa Grether, Sergio Lamberto, Vadim Tchijik, cellists Sonia Wieder-Atherton, Hélène Dautry... A passionate chamber musician, she was a member of the Athena Trio (1997- 2007) in which she has performed in many countries and with whom she recorded Debussy's trio in particular. As a soloist Sandra Chamoux has been conducted by Jean-Sébastien Béreau, Patrick Souillot, Frédéric Bouaniche... With the Sym- phonia Médica orchestra conducted by Nathalie Borgel, she recorded Rachmaninov's second concerto in concert. Since 2012 she has been a member of the Liberquartet (specialising in the music of Astor Piazzolla) with whom she has just produced two albums. Since 2015, with the cellist Hélène Dautry, she performs regularly in France and abroad. In 2017, they recorded the two Brahms sonatas for the Lyrinx label, which was awarded a 4-star rating in "Classica".
Also interested in contemporary creation, she has just recorded the work of Claire Vazart, creating her piano sonata, a trio and a cycle of melodies dedicated to her. Fascinated by vocal accompaniment, she has been working since 2016 with baritone Emmanuel Cury with whom she recorded Duparc's melodies for the Indésens-Calliope label, a record which won the Choc Classica award in September 2020. For the same record company, she will soon finish recording a work by Philippe Hersant and the complete Images de Debussy.
She is also a member of the artistic management committee of Musée en Musique in Grenoble.
Sandra Chamoux is a member of the Board of Directors and is very involved in teaching. In 2005, she was appointed professor of piano at the Grenoble CRR. At the same time, she was invited to teach at the International Summer Academies of Nancy, the International Winter Academies of Greater Paris, the International Academy of the Moulin D'Andé... She has been invited to give Master Classes in Switzerland, Germany, France and recently in India and China.
 

EMMANUEL CURY, baritone

Emmanuel Cury began as a contemporary dancer, in the companies of Jérôme Rachell, Myriam Dooghe, Catherine Atlani.
It was after his studies at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Paris with Régine Crespin, his training at the Centre de Musique Baroque and then at the Studio Versailles Opéra with Rachel Yakar and René Jacobs, that he began a career as a lyric artist both in opera and in oratorio, melody and song. Passionate about pedagogy, he was successively a teacher in dance and singing, head of the music department and then pedagogical director at the Ecole Supérieure des Arts du Cirque.
Holder of a CA in singing and management, he has held management positions in the conservatories of Eybens, Reims and Grenoble. He is currently a singing teacher at the Grenoble Conservatory, working with singers and actors in a career guidance programme.
Attentive to contemporary music, he has created works by Christian Sébille in Reims, collaborated with the Césarée centre, with the Grame in Lyon, with the company Temps Relatif in Grenoble, with the festival "Les Détours de Babel"...
He performs regularly in programmes ranging from Buxtehude to Ligeti, in opera, oratorio, shows, with a particular fondness for melody and Lied.
He has been heard in concerts and tours, as a soloist, recitals and small ensemble, with :

* Don Quichotte variations, basé sur les œuvres de Ravel, Ibert, et Brel, écrit et mis en espace par moi-même, avec Claire Colombas (2013-14-15)

Récitals de mélodies et Lieder, allant de Mahler à Poulenc, dont en particulier une création cinématographique :
* Dichterliebe de Schumann, réalisation Agathe Cury, piano Sébastien Jaudon. Six des Lieder de l’intégrale des Dichterliebe en récital sont l’objet d’une réalisation cinématographique projetée en direct pendant le récital. (2014-15)

Pièces contemporaines avec la cie Temps Relatif : de Dazzi à Saariaho, dont plusieurs créations avec le festival les Détours de Babel. (2010-2019)

Je fais par ailleurs partie du labobascule, atelier d’improvisation ayant participé ces dernières années au Babylab de l’Isère, sous forme d’interventions régulières auprès de bébés de 8 à 18 mois, dans le cadre d’une étude sur l’acquisition du langage. (2019-en cours)

Récital présentant l’intégrale des mélodies de Duparc, scandées par des lectures de textes permettant de suivre l’évolution de la vie de ce compositeur, avec Sandra Chamoux (piano) (2018-19).
Ce récital a donné lieu à l’enregistrement du disque éponyme sorti chez Calliope en 2020, et ayant reçu le choc Classica de septembre 2020.
