Born in Liège, Jean-Luc Thellin is an organist, appointed in February 2023 as titular organist of Chartres Cathedral.

He teaches organ at the Conservatoire de Neuchâtel and organ and harpsichord at the Conservatoire à Rayonnement Départemental de Chartres.

Winner of several international competitions, he performs a wide repertoire, from early music to contemporary music, which allows him to be invited in international festivals in Europe and North America.

He has a particular passion for the organ works of J.S. Bach, César Franck and Maurice Duruflé, whose complete works he has performed in concert on numerous occasions.

His recordings of works by César Franck and Johann Sebastian Bach have been distinguished by Resmusica, Crescendo, Classiquenews,...

Improvisation is another of his passions, both in concert and in the liturgy, in a wide variety of styles.

For him, music represents an initiatory path, through which one can rise, open oneself to a wider consciousness, and he draws his life force from it.

Jean-Luc Thellin needs to share this experience, and his happiness comes mainly from the feeling of having brought something unique to others.
